The Dallas Cowboys are looking to get back to the playoffs after a disastrous season that saw the departure of head coach Mike McCarthy earlier this offseason. McCathy was succeeded by his former offensive coordinator, Brian Schottenheimer, in what is Schottenheimer’s first time serving as a head coach.
New to the job as he may be, Schottenheimer clearly isn’t lacking for confidence, as he made clear to a group of reporters on Thursday.
“We’re gonna win. And when we win, our coaching staff is going to get raided. People are going to come after our coaches, because we’re gonna win,” Schottenheimer said, according to The Athletic’s Jon Machota.
Fans reacte to the statement on social media.
“Eagles at it again, reaching out about watts the edge rusher. While Jerry is napping, unable to sign his own guys,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Make damn sure nobody can interview them during the Playoffs too,” someone else added.
“Let’s take that chance !! You think Landry worried about losing coaches? Jimmy??? I live in Eagles country and I need the COWBOYS TO WIN!! At least twice a year!!!!” another fan wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see how Dallas fares in its first season under Schotteheimer.
