The Denver Broncos undoubtedly hoped to be among the best teams in the NFL this season, but that certainly hasn’t been the case. The team ranks dead last in scoring offense, averaging just 13.8 points per game. Not only is the team not among the best teams in the league, but Denver’s entire season of offensive production is being outpaced by other teams in just a few weeks.

As NFL analyst Mike Clay pointed out on Twitter, the Dallas Cowboys have more offensive touchdowns in their past three games than the Broncos do the entire season so far.

“Perspective… Cowboys last 3 games: 15 offensive TDs. Broncos entire season: 14 offensive TDs,” Clay tweeted on Monday morning.

It’s definitely a brutal and concerning trend for Denver, and the NFL world had plenty to say about the surprising news on Twitter as a result.

A big reason for the Broncos’ struggles this season is the play of quarterback Russell Wilson. He is having by far the worst season of his entire career. He’s even being outpaced statistically by multiple quarterbacks who have barely played this season. It’s gotten so bad for Wilson that reporters are even asking head coach Nathaniel Hackett if Wilson should be benched.
