The Detroit Lions got their first win of the season last weekend against the Minnesota Vikings, and they will look to make it two wins in a row when they face the Denver Broncos on Sunday. While the Lions only have one win (they do have a tie too!), head coach Dan Campbell has had the — talent-lacking– team playing hard all season, with Detroit frequently coming up just short.

Denver starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater played for the New Orleans Saints from 2018-19 while Dan Campbell was the Saints’ assistant head coach and tight ends coach. And on Wednesday, Bridgewater was asked about Campbell before they face off this weekend.

Bridgewater said that after Campbell speaks to the team, “you’re ready to just storm out of that meeting and punch a guy in the face for no reason.”

“Whenever he stood in front of the team and talked, you were ready to just storm out of that meeting and punch a guy in the face for no reason.”

That’s a unique way of speaking very, very well of a football coach.

And Campbell feels strongly about the leadership skills of Bridgewater too.

So that’s a pretty cool mutual admiration.
