It might be Christmas, but nobody on the Denver Broncos has a lot to be merry about. The Broncos sputtered to an embarrassing 4-10 as they entered their Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams, who have equally fallen flat on their face after their Super Bowl victory 10 months ago, have easily dismissed the Broncos in an ongoing rout. But frustration has really settled in over on the Denver sideline.
CBS’ Tracy Wolfson provided a major and shocking update during the broadcast. Wolfson reported about a huge, tense skirmish that ensued on the Broncos’ sideline. The skirmish involved backup quarterback Brett Rypien as well as offensive lineman Dalton Risner, and others.
Our own The Comeback tweeted, “Brett Rypien gets into it with Dalton Risner and the rest of the offensive line. Not a Merry Christmas for the Broncos in Los Angeles.”

Wolfson said on the broadcast of the scuffle, “Tensions are high, Jim, on these Broncos’ sideline. Backup quarterback Brett Rypien came over after that sack, went to the offensive line. Had words for them and Dalton Risner, defending Russell Wilson. Risner, right in the middle of it, actually pushed Rypien. And then Cam Sutton just trying to calm everyone down going up and down the sidelines. But certainly, frustration down here on the Broncos’ sideline.”

Quarterback Russell Wilson, who had his share of struggles on Christmas against the Rams, then tried to get involved. Wilson talked for a moment with his line, and Risner put his hand on Wilson’s, seemingly encouragingly, indicating tension seemed to cease.
But, sheesh, so much lack of merriness.
