Amari Cooper Browns interception

There is always a chance that a trick play can be a huge momentum builder for a team, but they can also end up being disastrous, the kind of plays that generates a ton of laughs from NFL fans. The latter occurred in Monday night’s matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals when wide receiver Amari Cooper was asked to throw the ball.

The play occurred in the first quarter on a double reverse play for Cleveland. It was designed for Cooper to pass the ball downfield, but some pressure from the Bengals defense resulted in Cooper throwing a terrible interception to Bengals safety Vonn Bell.

It looked like Cooper had Browns receiver Michael Woods II wide open downfield, but significantly underthrew him by at least ten yards.

Many took to social media to react to this hilarious blunder from the Cleveland offense.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey detailed exactly how to pull off a trick play with his highlight-reel touchdown pass on Sunday.

Amari Cooper evidently didn’t have nearly the time or seemingly the arm to pull off that kind of play nearly as well for the Browns.

The Browns desperately need to win this matchup against the Bengals, currently sitting at just 2-5 on the season. Plays like this certainly will not help things in their pursuit of a big division victory on Monday night.
