The Cleveland Browns could be one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL heading into the 2022 season after trading for star quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The team also made a number of other moves this offseason to become a championship contender, including trading for star wide receiver Amari Cooper and signing star cornerback Denzel Ward to a massive long-term contract extension.

It does not appear that Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will be a part of the future of the team. He has voiced his frustrations with the organization publicly and requested a trade back in March.

While it seems that it is only a matter of time until he is no longer on the Browns, the team does not look like they are in a hurry to trade the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke about the situation with Mayfield on Wednesday, addressing reports that Mayfield will not be attending the team’s voluntary offseason program while he rehabs his offseason shoulder surgery.

“I’d tell you that’s a unique situation. It’s fluid. And we’ll just continue to work through it as we go each day,” Stefanski said. “It’s a voluntary program. What we won’t do is we won’t say who’s here, who’s not here. It’s voluntary. The guys that show up, we’re excited that they’re here. We’re excited to work with them.”

Stefanski was also asked about Mayfield’s recent interview where he spoke about his frustrations with the Browns organization but said that he wasn’t going to speak about that at this time.

It remains to be seen where Baker will end up next season or when a potential trade could happen. The quarterback market has certainly dried up after a ton of teams fixed their quarterback situation, so there isn’t exactly an obvious landing spot for Mayfield going forward.
