As the NFL Scouting Combine nears, former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young is widely considered the top quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft according to most draft analysts. But it looks like fans and NFL teams are going to have to wait until his pro day to see him throw.
According to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, Bryce Young has decided that he will not throw at the upcoming NFL Combine, even though fellow top quarterback C.J. Stroud out of Ohio State has decided that he will throw at the combine.
“Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud will throw at this week’s NFL Scouting Combine, while Alabama QB Bryce Young will wait to do so for his pro day, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Young is long past his AC joint injury from this season, but he’ll just do interviews in Indy,” Rapoport said in a tweet.

It’s a pretty big decision for arguably the top quarterback in the draft, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.
As expected.
If Young is trying to weigh in over 200 at the #NFLCombine no way he was ever going to run or throw.
The weight he has to add would negatively impact these drills.
Plan would be to weigh in, interview and get out. Then lose the weight and run/throw at Pro Day. https://t.co/WdcsGtOtxT

Always a fan of players doing drills when they're physically able to do so. You believe in yourself, go out there and showcase that talent. https://t.co/UoliaKGDkJ

Scouting combine this week, otherwise known as the underwear olympics
Realistically, teams aren't likely to learn too much from the physical tests which participants are put through – it's just content for TV (and not really great content!)
The interviews are where it's at https://t.co/06Wiu64PJt

CJ will throw but Young will not. Richardson will throw as well. So far there’s no word on Levis. #NFLCombine https://t.co/DBWfzbFt4Q

But when will he weigh-in/measure? Nothing in this pre-draft process is more interesting than this. https://t.co/6kjPTD9Coz

We’ll have to see how this decision works out for him as he goes through the full NFL Draft process in hopes of being the No. 1 overall pick.
