Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins’ day started badly and ended up even worse on Thursday.
It all began at Buccaneers OTA practices. Seferian-Jenkins effort was apparently not up to par and Bucs Head Coach Dirk Koetter kicked him out of practice because of it.

When asked about it afterwards, Koetter downplayed the incident.
“I did send him off,” Koetter said. “That’s between me and him. … You guys are making more of it than you need to.”
Koetter refrained from throwing his tight end under the bus, and deflected the questions about Seferian-Jenkins’ behavior. In the immediate aftermath of practice, it appeared as if this story might get a quick blog post, if that, and then quickly die out.

However, Seferain-Jenkins made what is almost never the right decision. He tweeted through it. That began innocuously enough. The 23-year-old fired off a couple quick tweets about moving onward and upward, which he quickly deleted. But thanks to screenshots, nothing completely disappears from the internet.
It probably isn’t the best move to add any more fuel to a fire that is already dying, but this is just a little extra kindling at most. Unfortunately for Seferian-Jenkins, he decided to douse the story with an entire can of lighter fluid.
When a few Twitter users decided to call him out for leaving practice, Seferian-Jenkins fired right back. When he was not threatening to fight those users, he was hurling insults aimed at those users’ girlfriends, wives, and mothers.

Let this be a reminder to Twitter users everywhere. It is never a good idea to tweet through your issues as you’re working through them. As a result, Sefarian-Jenkins probably isn’t finished dealing with this situation with his coach or the Buccaneers’ front office, and may end up hearing from the NFL as well.
