The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off their first loss of the season to the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Tampa Bay and quarterback Baker Mayfield came up just short of making a comeback.

The Buccaneers are looking to get things back on track on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately, Mayfield will be without his backfield mate Bucky Irving. Now, Mayfield and Tampa Bay are getting a brutal update on Irving, per one prominent league insider.

“Turns out that Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving’s shoulder injury, which he did not report to the team until Tuesday last week, is more of an issue than his sprained foot, per sources. Irving is dealing with a shoulder subluxation that is expected to sideline him at least two weeks. Irving will not play today vs. the Seahawks and he’s not expected back for next week’s game vs. the 49ers, either,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Don’t want it to be by injury, but the Bucs need to be the 4th place NFC team by division winners at end of year. No home field,” someone else added.

“Why didn’t he report it immediately? Playing through injury only makes it worse. Rookie mistake that’s going to cost the team,” someone else added.

“Wow… it’s commendable that he wants play through injuries but those build up… and hurt later on… it’s good the Bucs caught it early,” one person added.

It’ll be interesting to see when Irving can make his return.
