Tom Brady’s brief retirement period is going to bring a lot of reactions, both good and bad. One group that has to be absolutely estatic at the news of the GOAT returning has to be the pass catchers for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

I kind of get it. You’re catching passes for a living and for almost six weeks, you were looking at a reality of going from Tom Brady to Kyle Trask. Nothing against Trask, it doesn’t matter who replaces Brady there’s going to be a drop-off in performance.

So when it came out that Brady was coming back for a 23rd season, some receivers made it known how excited they were at the news.

While Breshad Perriman simply retweeted Brady’s announcement, Mike Evans and Cyril Grayson Jr. were more vocal.

One notable absent voice (so far) has been Rob Gronkowski. In fairness to Gronk, it’s only been an hour since Brady’s announcement so it’s possible he’s away from his phone. And even if he is, Gronk’s also an unrestricted free agent so while this makes it more likely he’ll come back to Tampa, it’s still not yet a certainty.
