Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs created headlines throughout the league last month when he skipped the first day of mandatory minicamp with demands of a new contract.

Diggs eventually appeared and practiced with his team, but the receiver has been enigmatic throughout his career, and it’s certainly a situation that other teams are watching.

According to franchise quarterback Josh Allen, however, the internal dispute between the team and Diggs is a non-story that was fueled by the media. He added that Diggs and the Bills remain in talks.

“I love him. That’s my guy,” Allen told the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast when asked about Diggs.

“The media has blown this so far out of proportion. We are in rookie or minicamp. We’re not playing a game for four months. He doesn’t show up for one day. He’s still there. Coach asked him to go home. They’re in talks. They’re trying to resolve some things. It wasn’t anything major. And (the) media blew it up. They’re still talking about it. Let it go. There’s no reason to continue talking about it.”

Whether the Bills can work out a new deal with Diggs remains to be seen. If they don’t, then that will be a massive blow to the team’s championship hopes.
