The Buffalo Bills suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night in the divisional round of the playoffs as kicker Tyler Bass missed a 44-yard field goal attempt that would have tied the game in the closing seconds. And after the game, it sounds like Bass is blaming nobody but himself.
During his postgame press conference, Tyler Bass took the blame for the miss, saying that he did not do a good enough job of compensating for the wind.
“It’s completely on me,” Bass said according to the Buffalo Bills team website. “I’ve got to do a better job of getting through to my target. I’ve got to do a better job of playing it a little bit more left when you have a left to right [wind]. I’ve been here long enough to know that you have to do that.”
After Bass’ kick went wide right, the Chiefs were able to run out the clock and come away with yet another postseason victory over the Bills.
With the latest win, the Chiefs have now eliminated the Bills from the playoffs three out of the past four years.
We’ll have to see if the Bills make any changes to help get them over the hump next season
