When Calvin Johnson retired from the NFL, the Hall of Fame receiver’s relationship with the Detroit Lions became strained. Johnson and the team have been fighting over money that he believes he is owed. But according to Megatron himself recently, fences are being mended.

Johnson spoke to the New York Post recently for his cannabis company, Primitiv Performance. In doing so, he revealed that the relationship is trending upward. New York Post writer Ryan Glasspiegel tweeted, “Talked to Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson about his relationship with the Lions” with three stock-up emojis in parentheses beside it. Thus, indicating that things are looking up.

Johnson told the Post, “We’re trending up. We’re trying to come together and make something happen. Obviously I’d love to be around the team and do more things there and help the guys out. It’s good that we’re moving in the right direction.”

Calvin was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021. He appeared at Ford Field for a ceremony to honor him during the Lions’ game against the Baltimore Ravens that ensuing season. Lions fans were happy to see him, and would absolutely be thrilled to see him back with the team. Especially as the team trends upward as well under head coach Dan Campbell. Detroit missed out on a playoff spot by just one game and fought all the way until Week 18 this season.
