Veteran wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been away from the NFL for quite some time after his 2021 season ended early due to a foot injury and he was suspended for the entire 2022 season after he was caught gambling on the NFL. But now he’s back and with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it sounds like he’s got some bold expectations.

According to a report from NFL reporter Ari Meirov, Calvin Ridley claims that he used the last two years to get “healthier, faster, stronger and wiser” and he shared an extremely bold quote.

“I’m a 1,400-yard receiver with a broke foot. You know what I’m saying? I know I can make the plays and I know that I’m one of the better receivers in this league,” Ridley said according to Meirov.

This is just the latest in a series of bold comments Ridley has made about the upcoming season as last month, he claimed in an article with the Players’ Tribune that he will be “giving Jacksonville 1,400 yards a season, period.”

Ridley sure sounds confident heading into the 2023 NFL season, so we’ll have to see how he ultimately performs after being away from the league for almost two years.
