Last season, NFL star wide receiver Calvin Ridley missed the entire NFL season after he was suspended for gambling on NFL games. And with Ridley now reinstated, it sure sounds like he’s ready to pick up right where he left off as one of the most dominant receivers in the entire league.

This week, Calvin Ridley penned a very honest and open letter in The Players’ Tribune where he declared “I’m not here to sugarcoat anything” and got brutally honest about his mistakes. But he also gave a pretty bold prediction for the upcoming NFL season guaranteeing that he’s going to put up 1,400 receiving yards “on my daughter’s name.”

“Right now, I feel stronger than I’ve ever felt — mentally and physically,” Ridley wrote. “On the field, I’m flying. Believe me, I’m flying. That GPS band don’t lie. On my daughter’s name, if I’m healthy? With Trevor Lawrence? I’m giving Jacksonville 1,400 yards a season, period.”

Ridley knows that he made a mistake, but he’s making it his goal to prove himself this season.

“I know I have a debt to pay back to the game. But when y’all talk about the name Calvin Ridley in 10, 20, 30 years … I’m gonna make sure it rings out for the right reasons,” Ridley said.
