While hosting the red carpet event for the ESPYS on Thursday night, former New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton interviewed former Patriots quarterback Mac Jones.

The talk wasn’t about football but instead about former head coach Bill Belichick.

Newton asked Jones what he thought about Belichick dating someone much younger than him.

“I have to ask this, former coach, his dating choice right now. What are we doing? Do we approve?” Newton asked Jones, as they both laughed.

“I need your opinion first,” Jones replied.

“I’m like, no, I don’t approve,” said Newton. “I am not even going to lie, but just to see him doing what he’s doing is like [shocked looked].”

“Hey bro, good for him, right?” Jones continued. “It is what it is.”

The pair were briefly teammates when Jones was a rookie three years ago. He beat out Newton for the starting job, but there appeared to be no hard feelings between the two.

Jones was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason and will be the backup to Trevor Lawrence.

“I’m great. What I learned from you, have fun with this ****, bro,” Jones said. “Have fun with it. I’m in Jacksonville, back home having fun.”
