The NFC West looked like it was going to be the most competitive division in the league this season, and even potentially field four playoff teams through the early part of the season. Then, the Arizona Cardinals crumbled and proceeded to lose their next five games.

Arizona traveled to Dallas to square off against Dak Prescott adn the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, and going into the game, it seeemed like the perfect opportunity for the Cowboys to get their season on track, as another franchise that was failing to meet preseason expectations.

Instead, the Cardinals, led by veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who was filling in for the injured Kyler Murray, led the Cardinals to an impressive if not outright dominant 27-17.

Perhaps most notable about the game was Brissett’s chemistry with young wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., which Murrray has failed to find this season.

The Cardinals’ coaching staff seems to be just as impressed as fans were with Brissett, as their sticking with the veteran as their starter for next week’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, according to one prominent league insider.

“QB news in Arizona: Cardinals are sticking with QB Jacoby Brissett as their starter for Sunday’s game in Seattle,” senior NFL insider for ESPN Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday.

Fans reacted to the quarterback switch-up and indication that Murray’s time as the starter in the desert is finished on social media.

“Kyler has a lot more time to play Call of Duty now,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Kyler Murray trade in the offseason is a lock at this point. Would hope the Saints stay away,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see what lies next for Murray.
