Washington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz is having a mixed day in his debut with the NFL team. Despite throwing for 313 yards and 4 touchdowns, he’s also thrown two interceptions.
This is the third NFL team Wentz has started for over the past three seasons, having played for the Philadelphia Eagles, then traded to the Indianapolis Colts last year before then being traded again to the Commanders. His struggles are well-known and fans across the league are roasting him for his poor play on the day.
This is a more brutal introduction to what apparently is the Carson Wentz experience than Washington fans could possibly have imagined.

Like 15 minutes ago in real time Carson Wentz's QB rating was hovering around 110. It is now 74.2 🤢

Wentz did seem to get off to a good start but things went downhill. That said, the Commanders ultimately won the game and many can point to Carson’s four touchdowns as a big reason why.
Carson Wentz long! Touchdown @Commanders! 🙌

Still, the main criticism of Wentz has been how inconsistent he has been throughout his career and that seemed to be in play again on Sunday. Washington fans got both sides of the quarterback Sunday afternoon.
Carson Wentz lookin like their savior?

I will apologize to Carson Wentz when the clock hits triple zeros and not a SECOND sooner.

Such is the dichotomy of Carson Wentz. At the end of the day, the Commanders are 1-0. But there is going to be a lot of attention paid to Wentz’s consistency moving forward as the franchise tries to figure out if they can truly compete in the NFC East with him at the helm or if he’s simply a stopgap until they draft a savior.
