For years, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson was one of the most dominant wide receivers in the entire NFL, and now it looks like he wants to get back into the game – but this time as a coach.

Last month, news broke that the New York Jets would likely be needing a new wide receivers coach as current coach Miles Austin faces a lengthy suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy. And it looks like Chad Johnson would be interested in replacing him.

On Wednesday, MLFootball shared a Tweet indicating that the Jets were in search of a new wide receivers coach following Austin’s suspension. And Johnson wasted no time in volunteering his services with a quote tweet.

“I want to work with [Garrett] Wilson, [Elijah] Moore and [Corey] Davis, call me,” Johnson said in a tweet.

While it’s not likely Johnson actually gets an interview from the team, much less the actual job, the NFL world seemed to enjoy the thought.

“We’d love to have you Ocho!” The Jets Way podcast said in a tweet.

“I am 100% all in on @ochocinco WR coach. In fact, if that happens, #NFL has to put #Jets on Hard Knocks this season..,” the Play Like a Jet podcast said on Twitter.

“Jets will finally have a coach that believes in Zach Wilson #Jets,” Jets fan Stefan Stelling said in a tweet.

Whether it would be a good move or a bad move, it would definitely be entertaining!
