Tragedy almost struck the NFL this past week when Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was shot at a club in Florida. Dell was not directly involved in the incident and was just a bystander but it could have ended badly for the wideout and many others.
Dell suffered minor injuries but is expected to make a full recovery. 10 people were injured in the shooting.
Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johson discussed the incident on their podcast Nightcap and Johnson said he reached out to Dell and offered him some advice.

“I shot him a text message to tell him you’re in my prayers… And after that, he responded back and said, ‘Everything is good, I’m good I appreciate you,’ and I just told him, ‘You got to move a little different, baby, you got to move different you know. I understand it’s the offseason. You want to enjoy yourself, you want to go out and have fun with your friends and your homeboys. But you got to move differently.'”
“You got to be in places with the grown folk,” added Johnson.
Sharpe agreed and added if you have to be in a place where you have to carry (a gun) you have no business being there.
Both Sharpe and Johnson are right. There have been too many reports about pro athletes being caught up in situations that could have led to them being hurt or killed. Sharpe and Johnson are saying it’s okay to be out, but also be aware of your surroundings and who you hang with cause it could cost you your career, or much worse.
