Saturday’s NFL Wild Card matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Jacksonville Jaguars featured an all-time meltdown from Los Angeles, blowing a 27-0 halftime lead and ultimately falling to Jacksonville 31-30. There were obviously a ton of factors that went into their loss, but a poor decision from Chargers star Joey Bosa seemed to turn the tide of the game.

Bosa was flagged for his second personal foul of the game after slamming his helmet on the field after allowing a Jaguars touchdown.

This would result in the Jaguars having a shorter extra point try, and Jaguars head coach Doug Peterson would capitalize by going for a two-point conversion which would be successful.

This made it just a two-point lead for the Chargers instead of a three-point lead with an extra point and would help the Jaguars win the game as time expired with a field goal instead of going to overtime.

Bosa addressed his boneheaded foul on Sunday and detailed that he has to do better at being accountable for his actions.

“I really, really do want to say some things,” said Bosa via Bidget Condon of NFL Network. “I need to be more accountable for my actions… it’s a heated game I’m hurting out there I’m playing on half a leg,”

It’s certainly interesting to hear that Bosa was not at 100 percent for the game. This is due to Chargers head coach Brandon Staley deciding to play his starters in Week 18, which resulted in Bosa and star wide receiver Mike Williams getting injured in the game.

Regardless of the circumstances, Joey Bosa clearly made a huge mistake that was undoubtedly a huge factor in their team’s collapse on Saturday night, which is something that cannot happen for a player of his caliber.
