Mike Williams Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers fans are equally concerned and mad after wide receiver Mike Williams had to be carted off the field with an apparent leg injury in Sunday’s game.

They’re concerned because the injury puts Williams‘ playing status for the postseason in jeopardy. And fans are upset because they say the talented wideout should not have even been playing in the Chargers meaningless game against the Denver Broncos.

Williams suffered the injury late in the first half after being tackled on a short reception. He reportedly struggled to stand after arriving at the locker room.

Chargers fans and NFL observers were amazed that Williams, not to mention other key Chargers players, were in the game risking injury. Defensive star Joey Bosa left the game earlier with an unspecified injury. Many blamed head coach Brandon Staley for making a terrible decision to play the starters extensively.

“Unless the analytics say injuring Joey Bosa and Mike Williams are good for their wildcard matchup idk what the hell Brandon Staley is doing today,” tweeted Craig Horlbeck.

“Why are the Chargers playing guys like Herbert and Mike Williams in a meaningless game when they know damn well every player on their team is made of glass?” tweeted Patrick Allen.

“A complete error in judgment for Staley. It’s indefensible, really,” tweeted Ryan DePaul.

Daniel Wade tweeted, “If Mike Williams misses even a single game because he was out there for a FIFTH offensive drive in a meaningless game, this game is an unmitigated disaster. Totally avoidable.”

Mike Williams carted off, great job coach,” tweeted Will Brinson.

“The Chargers refusing to rest their starters in a meaningless game, while Mike Williams was carted to the locker room is, well stupid,” tweeted the popular sports account ThatsGoodSports.
