One of the more surprising moves on ‘Black Monday’ in the NFL was the Miami Dolphins letting go of former head coach Brian Flores. However, it appears that he won’t have to wait too long to get interviews for a new head coaching position.

The Chicago Bears also fired their coach, letting go of both Matt Nagy and GM Ryan Pace. Tom Pelissero now reports that the Bears will be interviewing Flores for their vacant head coaching position.

This is the first interview that Flores will get but will likely not be the last.

The Bears will also be interviewing Doug Peterson, Dan Quinn, Matt Eberflus, Nathaniel Hacket, Byron Leftwich, Todd Bowles, Brian Daboll, and Leslie Frazier for their head coaching position.

Among those candidates, the betting public actually views none of them as the favorite to be the new head coach.

The betting favorite for the new head coaching position of the Bears is actually Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, who has been linked to the Bears in rumors of him coming back to the NFL.

Of the candidates listed to be interviewed by the Bears, my money would be on Flores to get the job. Flores was fired despite doing a relatively good coaching job for the Dolphins, leading them to a 9-8 record, winning 8 out of their last 9 games after a slow start to the season.

It will be interesting to see what other open positions around the league open up, and how many of them will be considering Flores to be their next head coach.
