Cole Kmet just made everyone go crazy.
The Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons met on Sunday in Atlanta for an NFC clash. The Bears, 3-7, have had some lowlights this season. Quarterback Justin Fields is at least no longer one of them. And the Bears had a further positive moment happen for them in their matchup against the Falcons.
Chicago tight end Cole Kmet has had ups and downs in 2022. He’s scored a career-high five touchdowns this year, but had only racked up 274 receiving yards going into Sunday.
But Kmet’s lack of consistent production didn’t stop him from making one of the catches of the year. Fields dropped back to throw and threw it to the former Notre Dame tight end. Kmet reached up and came down with a brilliant, one-handed grab.

What a catch! The degree of difficulty was really high there. Especially considering that Falcons’ All-Pro cornerback A.J. Terrell smashed right into Kmet as the ball hit his hand. But Kmet impressively held onto the ball with just one hand and produced a spectacular highlight.
For Chicago’s sake, hopefully, they end up on the right side of the win column. While the team ideally needs to keep rebuilding, and a higher draft pick allows them to do so, they continue to have brilliant performances while losing.
The NFL world oohed and ahhed at the sensational play by Kmet afterward.
