The Kansas City Chiefs are the reigning Super Bowl Champions in the NFL. It is customary for the Super Bowl winners to visit the White House in the offseason. The Chiefs have made a decision on a potential White House visit on Wednesday.
It is largely seen as a massive honor by most to be invited to the nation’s capitol. However, teams have increasingly turned down the opportunity in recent years.
The Georgia Bulldogs football team recently declined an invitation to Washington D.C., saying the suggested visit date was “not feasible.”
However, the Chiefs revealed on social media Wednesday that they will indeed be accepting their invitation from President Joe Biden to celebrate their championship season. June 5th will be the date that they visit Biden at the White House.
On Monday, June 5, President Biden will welcome us to the White House to celebrate our championship season and victory in Super Bowl LVII.

There are obviously plenty of mixed reactions to Biden from the general public. However, many Chiefs fans are excited that they will be continuing the tradition of visiting him in June.

Now this is very cool, Happy to see this as the Chiefs missed out on this chance after SB54. Looking forward to June 5th 🙂 https://t.co/CDlGxlnjta

This will actually be the first time that this generation of Chiefs will be taking a White House visit. They previously won Super Bowl LIV, but were unfortunately forced to miss out on their presidential visit due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Considering how they were forced to miss out on that visit, it was probably an easy decision to jump at this offer from President Biden.
