The Kansas City Chiefs seem like the early favorites to repeat as Super Bowl Champions next season. Unfortunately, it seems like the team is dealing with a nagging injury to a key player that could impact the beginning of their season.
Second-year running back Isiah Pacheco played a big role in his rookie season last year, taking over the starting running back job down the stretch of the season. Perhaps his biggest moment came on the biggest stage in Super Bowl 57, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown in their Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
If all goes to plan he will likely receive an even bigger role this coming season. However, he is dealing with a hand injury while also recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid offered an update on Pacheco during a press conference, and it wasn’t a particularly positive one for Chiefs fans, saying that Pacheco could start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform, or “PUP” list.
If Pacheco is placed on the list and stayed there throughout training camp, he would be ineligible to play in the team’s first four games of the season.
That would obviously be a big blow to the team, and fans are moderately concerned for Pacheco after this update.

If he does go on the PUP list, does this give CEH an opportunity to light it up? He is a free agent next year and he could up his value this year in #FantasyFootball and in real life in 2024 https://t.co/vm6v5CdJXu

Others believe that there is plenty of time before the start of the season and are optimistic that he will end up being cleared in time for Week 1.
