The Denver Broncos ended the Kansas City Chiefs’ reign of supremacy over the AFC West, wresting the division title from Kansas City for the first time in nine seasons. Denver also secured the number one overall seed in the conference, but, unfortunately for head coach Sean Payton, quarterback Bo Nix went down in the divisional round, and the Broncos’ offense stalled out in the AFC Championship game.
It’s never easy getting back to the top in the NFL. Just ask the Chiefs, or even the Detroit Lions, who missed the playoffs this season after a two-year stretch of some of the best football in franchise history.
Now, the Broncos will have an even harder time staying atop the AFC West, as the Chiefs and Mahomes have just bolstered their offense in a major way, per one of the league’s most prominent insiders.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Gonna be the most overhyped signing of the off-season there’s a reason why the Seahawks are letting him walk people forget he’s always hurt cause he had three good games in the playoffs,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“If you thought the Chiefs were hard to stop before, try guarding the deep ball while K9 is hunting for 135 yards on the ground,” one Chiefs fan added.
“I love it. Veach and Co. are finally being aggressive which has been sorely missed the past 3 years,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the move sends Kansas City back to the top of the league.
