The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed two of their biggest stars back to practice on Wednesday. Travis Kelce and Chris Jones returned to action after two different reasons sidelined them for Week 1. But it’s looking good now for Week 2 for both of the Chiefs’ most impactful contributors.

Aaron Ladd of KSHB-TV in Kansas City posted, “Travis Kelce (knee) and Chris Jones back together on the Chiefs practice field today.” Ladd included a video that showed both players getting acclimated with their teammates on the practice field in KC.

It’s hard to say whose absence made more of an impact last Thursday night. Without Kelce, the Chiefs’ offense struggled to play consistent football, with drops and miscommunications aplenty. Patrick Mahomes is amazing. Patrick Mahomes also can’t do it all on his own. That proved true against the Lions as one dropped pass led to a pick-six and they just were never on beat. It was both rare and unsurprising, given the team has lost several key players lately.

On the flip side, without Jones, the Lions were able to run roughshod on the Chiefs all evening. Not just running the football, either, as Jared Goff wasn’t under too much duress that evening.

But it doesn’t sound like they’ll have to worry much longer. Jones and Kelce both appearing at practice will pave the way for them to join the Chiefs in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The NFL world had plenty to say on Chris Jones and Travis Kelce and their return to Chiefs practice.
