Captain America: Civil War comes out May 6th. The New England Patriots’ 2016 season doesn’t begin until mid-September. Taking advantage of that timing, Patriots fan Chris Evans, Captain America himself, figured he’d invite the Patriots to the movie’s premiere.

When Jimmy Kimmel asked Evans who he was inviting to the premiere, he mentioned the typical family members and friends. But then, he got really specific.

“I said you know what I’m going to bring it back a little closer to home base so I invited a few people who over the years have kind of done things for me and so I’m inviting a few Patriots players,” Evans said. “I think Julian Edelman’s gonna come. I think Danny Amendola might show up.”

Kimmel followed that up by asking if Rob Gronkowski was invited and then things got a little awkward.em>”I did (invite him),” Evans said. “I did invite him. He couldn’t… I don’t know if he could make it… I didn’t… I actually didn’t hear back. You know what Gronk I’m putting that on you. I didn’t hear back… I can’t believe I just started a beef with Gronk.”

Evans is originally from Boston, so it makes sense why he’d invite players from his hometown football team to the premiere. However, the list of players coming doesn’t include Tom Brady. Perhaps that’s because Evans hasn’t had the chance to meet the Patriots quarterback just yet.

“You want it to happen organically, I don’t want anyone to force me into it,” Evans said. “You do you, just keep winning Super Bowls, and if we meet, we meet.”

You’d think Captain America had that kind of pull already.
