Former Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris Jr. has had an extremely successful career on multiple different teams for 12 seasons. However, he remains a free agent which he seems to be okay with.

Harris last played for the New Orleans Saints in 2022, starting in four of ten games that he played in. The team overall struggled as a whole, which is something that Harris revealed that he doesn’t want to go through again.

The four-time Pro Bowler spoke about his future in the NFL with Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette. He made his intentions clear that he plans to play in his 13th NFL season next year, but that he is in “no hurry” to sign with a team.

“Teams pretty much know I’m not planning on doing any training camp or anything like that,” said Harris. “I’ll do the same thing I did last year. I’m not doing training camp and all that OTAs (organized team activities in the spring) and stuff like that anymore. Just taking it day by day. Just enjoying this free time. I’m in no rush.”

He then added that he plans to sign with a Super Bowl contender in free agency.

“I want to wait and see what team has a great chance to win a Super Bowl and then try to hop on with them.”

There is obviously a ton of value to a player like Harris, who has experienced success at the highest level playing a huge role in the Denver Broncos Super Bowl Championship in 2016. However, it seems like Harris isn’t interested in anyone other than teams he views as contenders.
