Two weeks ago, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey married former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo in Rhode Island. While McCaffrey had former and current teammates help him celebrate his nuptials, one who wasn’t there was former Carolina Panthers teammate Cam Newton.
On his 4th and 1 podcast recently, Newton joked about not being invited to the wedding.
“Damn, C-Mac, I couldn’t get an invite?” Newton asked. “Is it because of the Brock Purdy beef? Was Brock there?”
McCaffrey saw what Newton had to say and replied on Instagram.
“This was a great night, but you know what would’ve made it even better? If Cam [Newton] were here. I haven’t got a text back in 4 years. In fact, they just go green now,” he wrote.
“What number do you have? Share it here,” Newton replied.
Newton said he found out about the wedding through his girlfriend and wished the newlyweds well.
The pair played together between 2017 and 2019 and then again in 2021.
Maybe it was an honest mix-up and hopefully, the pair can kiss and make up.
