The Cincinnati Bengals have been floundering for answers since the departure of star quarterback Joe Burrow in the second game of the season, a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, due to turf toe.
The Bengals turned to Jake Browning in Burrow’s absence, which was viewed optimistically as a three-month recovery, but the results were disastrous, leading the Bengals to make a trade with the Cleveland Browns to acquire veteran quarterback Joe Flacco.
The offense has looked better with Flacco at the helm, but the Bengals are still just 1-5 since his injury. However, one team insider has shared some news that could mean Burrow is in line to make a return late in the season or in the playoffs if the Bengals manage to make it that far without him.
“Joe Burrow has progressed to no walking boot. Strolls through locker room in normal athletic running shoes,” Mike Petraglia reported.

“He should actually just voluntarily get into a wheelchair as an omen he refuses to play with this defense,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Do not come back to this defense. You’d have to score 45 a game to even have a shot at winning games,” another Bengals fan advised Burrow.
“Who cares, the season is over so we won’t see him until next year and then he will get hurt again,” one fan added.
“Can he play linebacker also?” one fan wanted to know.
It’ll be interesting to follow his recovery process and see how much Burrow can speed up his timeline.
