The Cincinnati Bengals had one of the more prolific offenses in the country last season, especially at the skill positions headlined by star quarterback Joe Burrow and offensive rookie of the year Ja’Marr Chase. After the team made several moves to bolster its offensive line during the offseason, many expected that offense to be even better this season. Through two games, that has certainly not been the case.

Cincinnati is 0-2 to start the season, suffering losses to both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys despite being favored heading into both games. In the losses, the Bengals’ offense has been particularly bad, scoring just three touchdowns in two games.

Even more concerning is the fact that despite all the offensive line moves in the offseason, the Cincinnati pass protection has still been very poor so far this season. As of Sunday, Burrow had been sacked 13 times in just two games – the most of any quarterback in the NFL, just like last year.

It’s a concerning development for all Bengals fans hoping for a return trip to the Super Bowl this season. And the NFL world had plenty to say about it following the team’s second-straight loss on Sunday night.

The Bengals will look to snap the losing streak against the New York Jets next weekend.
