This week, a large contingent representing the Carolina Panthers traveled to Columbus, Ohio to meet with star Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud and observe him during his Pro Day workout. It’s clear that Stroud left an impression on the Panthers, who are favored to select him with the No. 1 overall pick. But the Panthers also left an impression on Stroud.

On Wednesday, after his Pro Day workout, C.J. Stroud was asked about the dinner he attended with the Panthers decision-makers on Tuesday night. And while he didn’t divulge many specific details, it does sound like the two sides clicked.

“I mean, I kind of want to keep some of it to us just because I don’t want to put out any of their business or mine, but I had a great time,” Stroud said of the dinner according to Pro Football Talk. “Just having open, transparent conversations about everything.

“They showed me how they like to do things off the field and to help people in the community, and that’s something I want to be a part of.”

The Panthers are going to visit with a few more quarterbacks as well – namely, Bryce Young and Will Levis – but it’s looking like there’s a strong chance that Stroud will be the No. 1 overall pick in April.
