C.J. Stroud Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud (7) calls a play during the second quarter of the NCAA football game against the Michigan State Spartans at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021. Michigan State Spartans At Ohio State Buckeyes Football

Throughout his two seasons as the starting quarterback of the Ohio State Buckeyes, star quarterback C.J. Stroud has impressed fans, analysts, and NFL scouts with his talented arm and throwing ability. And it looks like he’ll be putting that on full display at the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine this week.

While Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young has decided that he will not throw or participate in any drills at the upcoming combine, Stroud has decided that he will choose to throw at the combine, according to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network.

“Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud will throw at this week’s NFL Scouting Combine, while Alabama QB Bryce Young will wait to do so for his pro day, sources tell me and@TomPelissero. Young is long past his AC joint injury from this season, but he’ll just do interviews in Indy,” Rapoport said in a tweet on Monday morning.

It’s a big decision for Stroud as he looks to bolster his NFL stock and move up draft boards.

While Stroud is a virtual lock to be selected in the top half of the first round, many draft analysts differ on where he will be selected with some seeing him as the first or second quarterback in the draft along with Young while others see him behind both Anthony Richardson out of Florida and Will Levis out of Kentucky.

We’ll have to see how this move affects his draft projection.
