The Cleveland Browns quietly acquired former New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore in a trade back in March.

The trade sent a clear message to the league that the Browns were serious about reworking their offense for Deshaun Watson, who will play his first full season as a starter for the first time in over two years this fall.

Moore knows the difference between how things look on paper and on the field, and he spoke this week about that evolution during Browns’ practice.

Yeah, there’s nothing like it,” Moore said, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. “I’ve been training and I feel like I hold myself to train really, really hard and to put myself in the best position, but we were all saying after practice (Tuesday), ‘It’s nothing like being out here, doing it for real.’ I feel good about everything. We’re taking it one day at a time and I feel like it’s going to be what we want it to be.”

Moore is doing his part to adapt to Watson and his new offensive teammates.

“Probably just learning everybody,” Moore said. “With the different quarterback, different arm, seeing what he sees and just the communication around the team. Everyone communicates differently but I feel like it’s going to go well so I can’t complain.”

Moore also shed light on Watson taking the offensive unit on a trip to Puerto Rico.

“We were in the hotel and he’s in the playbook,” Moore said. “When we’re chilling on the beach, we just got done working out, we all got a workout in, he’s still in the playbook. So seeing how he is with that only gives us more confidence like, ‘OK, let us go look at the playbook one more time,’ so I can’t ask for nothing better.”

Browns fans will certainly hope things go better than last season when their team finished 7-10, good enough for last place in the AFC North.
