Shedeur Sanders Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders (12) heads on to the field during day two of NFL rookie minicamp at the Cleveland Browns training facility on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Berea, Ohio.

The Cleveland Browns are still trying to sort out the most important position on the team. Last season’s opening week starter had a brutal go of things before eventually rupturing his Achilles Tendon and suffering a setback in his recovery.

The Browns responded by adding four quarterbacks this offseason. Cleveland landed Kenny Pickett in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, signed veteran Joe Flacco, and drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Unfortunately, Pickett is currently sidelined with a hamstring issue, and Gabriel appears to be having a rough go of things. The Browns aren’t adding to the position group after Pickett’s injury either.

All of this means that it may come down to a two-horse race between Flacco and Sanders. In light of the developments, Sanders is finally getting the opportunity to show what he’s capable of in first-team reps.

“Shedeur Sanders got his first reps against the first team defense in camp, working with the 2nd team offense in 11 on 11s. He went 2 for 3 in that period,” reported Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot.

Fans reacted to Cabot’s report on social media.

“Better than the rest of them,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“First team offense reps coming soooooon,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Sanders goes on to win the job this offseason.
