The Pittsburgh Steelers have been the model of consistency in the NFL under head coach Mike Tomlin, as the team has yet to have a losing season under his watch. According to FS1’s Colin Cowherd, that won’t be changing in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
The Steelers will look entirely different coming into the 2024-25 season, as the organization brought in both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields as potentially starting quarterback options this offseason.
Aside from the quarterback position, things look largely similar offensively aside from the additions of wide receiver Van Jefferson and rookies like wide receiver Roman Wilson and left tackle Troy Fautanu.
Cowherd seemingly thinks that these additions could be enough to make the Steelers a real threat in the AFC, detailing on his show, The Herd, that he believes the Steelers have a top-five roster in football.
“Mike Tomlin needs to win games this year,” said Cowherd. “That offense between (Jaylen) Warren and (Najee) Harris, those receivers, that tight end, they addressed their offensive line very smartly. They already have a good defense. I gotta see 11 or 12 wins here. This is a very good roster. I thought they had another excellent draft. I gotta see W’s. I don’t care how good the division is. I need 12 (wins). This is way too talented of a roster. I look at rosters in the NFL, and I have the Steelers on the short list of the top five.”

On paper, it may seem a bit bold to say that the Steelers can truly win 11 or 12 games next season. But when you consider how they were a postseason team with the likes of Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett at quarterback last season, there really may be a scenario where Cowherd is right here and Wilson helps this team improve in a major way.
