San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick (7) flexes his muscles after scoring a touchdown during their 45-31 victory over Green Bay Packers in their NFC Divisional playoff game Saturday, January 11, 2013 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, Calif. Packers13 14 Spt Wood

Shocking news emerged on Wednesday when former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick got his wish for an NFL workout.

The Las Vegas Raiders held a workout for the controversial quarterback turned social activist as he attempts to return to the NFL for the first time since the 2016 season, which certainly got many around the NFL world talking.

For the first time since he left the league, there is now real potential for Kaepernick to make a return after seemingly being blackballed due to his kneeling during the national anthem for his stance on police brutality.

There are now reportedly two other teams interested in Kaepernick, and one NFL insider seems to believe that other teams could make a decision on Kaepernick in the near future.

Ian Rapoport tweeted Thursday that Kaepernick’s workout with the Raiders went well optimistic, an optimistic sign for his chance to return to the league for the 2022 season.

“On Colin Kaepernick’s workout with the Raiders: Sounds like it went well and he impressed. The door is open…

Many NFL fans seem to be extremely excited to see him getting closer to making his NFL return.

His situation with the Raiders would almost certainly be in a backup role with Derek Carr at the helm. Regardless, injuries happen all the time and there is a possibility that he could beat out Nick Mullins and Jarrett Stidham to be the No. 2 QB on the depth chart.

It is also possible that another team with a less-secure quarterback situation may have taken notice of his workout and could be interested in bringing him in to potentially compete for a starting job. Whatever the case may be, it is certainly good to see Kaepernick get a chance to possibly revive a career that appeared to be over.
