Jonathan Taylor is coming back, and he could be ready to play in Week 5.
What his return means going forward is anyone’s guess.
ESPN reported Monday that the Indianapolis Colts are activating the All-Pro running back from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and he is scheduled to return to practice Wednesday.
“He’s excited to get back with his teammates,” Colts head coach Shane Steichen told reporters (via ESPN).
As far as Taylor playing Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, Steichen said everything depends on how he looks in practice, but the coach said he looks good.
Taylor has been on the PUP list since the start of training camp after offseason ankle surgery. However, the bigger hurt has been his deteriorated relationship with the Colts. The Colts basically brushed off Taylor’s request for a long-term contract, leading him to demand a trade.
While a couple of teams, the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers, reportedly expressed interest, no deal happened, leaving Taylor and the Colts stuck together in a bad relationship.
The NFL world had plenty of thoughts on what Taylor’s return means in the long run.
All over Twitter is different verbiage. I have seen
– will practice
– is excited to practice
– plans to practice
– is scheduled to practice
– will have his practice window openedIs the video of what he said available anywhere?

Does he really want to come back to this? Hopefully he’s fully healed and can show what he can do.

#Dolphins need to make the trade for #Colts Jonathan Taylor.
There needs to be a power running element to compliment all of the finesse.
This becomes more critical in late season, cold weather, and potential playoff games and is sorely missing in this current offense
