The Washington Commanders went further than anyone other than their most ardent and diehard fans could have predicted last season. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels led the Commanders all the way to the NFC Championship, where they fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, the Commanders are looking to build a team around Daniels that has what it takes to go the distance this time. To help get that done, the Commanders made a splashy move to add a former Super Bowl MVP and two-time Super Bowl Champion.
“BREAKING: The #Commanders are signing future Hall of Fame pass-rusher Von Miller, he announced,” reported Ari Meirov on Twitter.
Fans reacted to the move on social media.
“Commanders want to clinch the oldest team in the league title,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Commanders will be an elite contender because of the impact of one player on a rookie contract,” someone else added.
“Five years ago ok , now he can be a rotational guy ,but doesn’t move the needle IMO,” another fan added.
“A smart pickup if he stays healthy. His experience could reshape that young Commanders front,” added one fan.
It’ll be interesting to see if Miller’s Super Bowl experience is just what the Commanders need to get over the hump.
