The Dallas Cowboys have been shockingly impressive in the absence of former Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott thanks to some impressive play from Cooper Rush so far this season.
Rush has proven thus far that he has what it takes to win big games in Prescott’s absence, leading the team to three straight wins in the past three weeks.
While Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been quick to praise Rush for his performance, he made it very clear in an interview last week that this is still Prescott’s team when he is able to return from injury.
The question now remains how long will Prescott be out for Dallas?
Jones gave an update on his availability during an interview with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, saying that he believes Prescott still cannot grip the ball with his surgically repaired thumb well enough to return to action.
“No, not well enough to play,” said Jones.

While Jones certainly hinted that Prescott will not play in the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, he also has not ruled him out to this point.
“We’re just starting the week. Let’s see how the week goes,” Jones added.
Jerry Jones would not rule Prescott out from Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. “We are just starting the week,” he said on 105.3 The Fan. “Let’s see how the week goes.”

With the Philadelphia Eagles emerging as true contenders in the NFC, it is crucial that the team keep winning at all costs to stay afloat in the NFC East.
Cooper Rush has been as steady as anyone could have hoped for Dallas, but ultimately it seems like it will come down to Dak Prescott to make this Cowboys team a true threat moving forward.
