The Dallas Cowboys have played great football to start the year. Dallas is off to a 2-0 start after defeating the New York Giants and Jets dominantly. But the Cowboys learned of troubling news on Thursday afternoon. Star cornerback Trevon Diggs will miss the remainder of the 2023 season after suffering a torn ACL during practice on Thursday afternoon.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network then reported, “An MRI already confirmed Trevon Diggs’ injury per source. He’s done for the season.”

Diggs burst onto the scene with the Cowboys. The team drafted him in 2020 after he starred at the University of Alabama. In his second season, Diggs led the NFL with 11 interceptions, two going for touchdowns. He’s had just four interceptions since then, however, but has a whopping 18 through his first four seasons.
Diggs has been named to the Pro Bowl twice in his career, in 2021 and 2022. After the 2021 season, he was named a First Team All-Pro selection.
It’s fair to say that while the Cowboys are loaded, losing Diggs for the entire season is a huge blow. The defense looks great, and they do have horses, but none quite the caliber of Diggs in the secondary. We wish Trevon Diggs a speedy recovery.
