It’s a week-to-week league in the NFL. You could be riding high, like Dak Prescott was last week. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback scored five touchdowns in their romp over Tampa Bay in the Wild Card round.

Then, the following week, you can get deep-fried by critics and Twitter alike if you have a dreadful performance. Unfortunately for Prescott, that’s the reality that the Cowboys quarterback will have to live through now. Dallas lost their NFC Divisional Round matchup to the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately for Prescott, he was a big reason why.

With a trip to the NFC Championship Game on the line – which would’ve been Dallas’ first since 1995 – Prescott didn’t match his brilliant showing last Monday. He threw for just 206 yards, and threw just one touchdown with two interceptions.

One came early to Deommodore Lenoir, which led to three 49er points.

The other came at a crucial point. Prescott led the Cowboys into the red zone. But he threw an errant pass into All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner’s hands. Given the margin of victory was seven points, an eluded touchdown stung hard.

Prescott nearly capped the game off with a safety but dodged a bullet. He also almost threw an interception to Dre Greenlaw on the first play of his team’s final drive.

Twitter slammed Dak Prescott into the ground after the game was over.
