The Dallas Cowboys and star quarterback Dak Prescott had a massively disappointing 2024 season. The Cowboys failed to reach the playoffs, and Prescott saw his season end prematurely, thanks to a devastating hamstring injury that saw his hamstring partially separate from the bone.
Prescott has been hard at work trying to get back to the field, knowing that the Cowboys can’t afford another season like 2024 and that fans have high expectations for him after he signed a massive extension just moments before last season started.
Now, Prescott has a major update for fans, according to one prominent league insider.
“Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said his hamstring injury is improving, and he could play game today if he had to,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter over the weekend.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Great news especially coming off of a significant hamstring injury where he tore the muscle off the bone He will be ready to go for this season without issue,” one doctor wrote on Twitter.
“Bro said he’s ready to suit up right now if needed… Hamstring beefin but not enough to bench the franchise,” another fan added.
“(He) could have been great but he chased the bag instead of the trophy. He should have left Dallas,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Prescott can return to his Pro Bowl-caliber play following his injury.
