Ezekiel Elliott has played his entire NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys after the team selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. And it sounds like he could end up with the team once again, even though he’s currently a free agent.

Dallas Cowboys team owner and general manager Jerry Jones made it clear that the team has not ruled out bringing back Ezekiel Elliott, especially after the suspension to running back Ronald Jones.

“We’re reading the tea leaves. And so the events like yesterday, the suspension that’s involved, you can have injuries of varying degrees, and then you have got the thing that everybody thinks of, and that’s how does it look?” Jones told the K&C Masterpiece.

“We got the pads on yesterday for the first time. It’s hard to appreciate Zeke without pads because that is his game. And when you put that pad on and you realize the collisions that can happen for you, just his protection and blocking, then all of a sudden you start thinking about the kind of things you’ll be thinking about when you’re evaluating at camp. He’s not ruled out at all there.”

It’s a major announcement, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media.

We’ll have to see whether or not the Cowboys decide to bring him back.
