The Dallas Cowboys are looking to stay competitive, but are in an interesting spot. Franchise quarterback Dak Prescott has the offense humming, and it has an argument as the best unit in the league. However, the defense is in the opposition position and has a case as the league’s worst unit.
Many are expecting the Dallas Cowboys to retool their defense in order to make a Super Bowl push in what is viewed as a wide-open NFC. One popular trade candidate in mock trades has been star cornerback Trevon Diggs, who is currently dealing with a concussion.
“Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer on (1053 the Fan) said he doesn’t think CB Trevon Diggs will be able to practice today. He has not practiced this week while being in concussion protocol. It’s unlikely that he will play Sunday,” reported The Athletic’s Jon Machota.
Fans aren’t buying Schottenheimer’s public statement, and are insulted that he isn’t being “honest” about the organization’s plan to trade Diggs.
“He requested a trade. Why can’t just say that lol,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The gaslighting from this organization is beyond insulting (at this point),” someone else added.
“He won’t play another down for Dallas. They’re holding him out so they can trade him,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Cowboys actually end up trading Diggs.
