The Dallas Cowboys are an NFL franchise unto themselves, for better or worse.
Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team already had some spice to it after Dallas coach Mike McCarthy guaranteed a victory, prompting a response from WFT coach Ron Rivera. Now, add in the fact that Dallas sent their own benches to the FedEx Field and you’ve got a situation that is pure Jerry Jones and classic Cowboys.
Before the game between the NFC East rivals, reporters started noticing that the benches along the Dallas sideline were a bit different from what you normally see. And sure enough, it was soon confirmed that the team had their own hot-seat benches flown in so that they didn’t have to deal with potentially faulty ones that WFT provides.
Here's the deal on the Cowboys' benches today: Cowboys got word from Seattle that the hotseat benches provided for them at FedEx Field kept going out during the game. Cowboys partnered with company in Cleveland that shipped them to FedEx Field so wouldn't be an issue today.

According to reports, the Seattle Seahawks gave the Cowboys a heads up that, when they played at FedEx Field, the benches would fritz from time to time. And so, the Cowboys did what the Cowboys do. And you better believe that social media was ready to react to this power move. They especially noted that Dallas now had better seating than the home team did.
Washington players mad as hell sitting on these concrete pillars with no logo on them looking across the field at Cowboys new fancy heated benches at their own stadium 😭😭😭😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/U5M5tlBH7U

As if the #Cowboys couldn’t be any more contemptible, they flew in their own sideline benches for the game … first time and only team that’s ever done that at FedEx … wild #WashingtonFootball pic.twitter.com/Qu46kPmP5P

I spoke to creator of customized Cowboys sideline benches. Imported DAL benches employ heating & cooling tech roughly a decade newer than WFT's. And that logo?
"We were excited to, for the first time, bring a branded set of benches to a road stadium."

The version of this story with the Cowboys just deciding to be super petty sounded way more fun lol https://t.co/AkyvnR4IcA

The Cowboys really, really need to win this game. Otherwise, between McCarthy’s guarantee and flying in all these heated benches, they’re going to have a lot to answer for on Monday. And so far, so good…
Mike McCarthy guarantees a Dallas win, Jerry Jones goes on DC radio and raves about strong Cowboys fan base in WFT's city, Cowboys bring their own benches… and Washington (in a playoff hunt) comes out and gets punked 24-0 in the first half after gaining just 29 yards.
