As the Dallas Cowboys prepare for the upcoming season in which they hope to contend for a Super Bowl title, it sounds like they have lost one of their key defensive players to a season-ending injury.

According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams is “feared” to have torn his ACL during practice on Sunday, which would obviously rule him out for the entire upcoming season.

“Cowboys DE Sam Williams is feared to have torn his ACL in practice today, sources tell me and [Ian Rapoport]. He’ll have an MRI to confirm. A tough blow early in camp,” Pelissero said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Needless to say, this would be horrible news for both Williams and the Dallas Cowboys, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

Williams emerged as a key contributor on the defensive side of the ball last season, appearing in every game for the Dallas Cowboys last season. He finished with the season with 4.5 sacks, 48 tackles, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 16 quarterback hits.

Clearly, this would be a big loss for the Cowboys.
