As teams across the league open their preseason training camps, Dalvin Cook – one of the top available players on the free agent market this offseason – remains unsigned. But it appears he’s making a pretty major move with one team: the New York Jets.
According to a report from league insider Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Dalvin Cook is visiting the New York Jets this weekend as he continues to search for his next team.
“Four-time Pro Bowl playmaker Dalvin Cook is flying today to New York for a visit with the #Jets this weekend. Cook, who averages 107 yards per game in his career, knows Aaron Rodgers from years of NFC North battles. Now they could team up to try to win a Super Bowl,” Pelissero wrote in a tweet on Thursday morning.

It’s a pretty major update for the most high-profile player currently in the free agent market, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media as a result.
Insane how fun this offseason has been #Jets https://t.co/yhXhWqBycM pic.twitter.com/LhLbmgph3d

Can’t stress enough how the Jets want to ramp Breece back up at a slow pace
Him near full throttle the 2nd half of the season opens the door for a potential large workload for Cook in the 1st half https://t.co/Y5KJHmqq8H

Aaron Rodgers took a major pay cut on his new deal, which was structured with a 2023 cap number of under $9M. That gives the #Jets flexibility to build around him … and now the top offensive weapon available is coming in for a visit. https://t.co/rzwqEl4LsZ

107 yards per game and unsigned is crazy https://t.co/FJeDNMn4T2

Rodgers took a paycut to help the Jets build a contender. Put the Packers in cap hell so they would trade him and gut the team 🤝 https://t.co/A1AwJlhCYM

Cook has been a free agent since he was released from the Minnesota Vikings earlier this offseason, presumably after the team failed to find a trade partner for the four-time Pro Bowl running back.
We’ll have to see whether or not this visit to New York ultimately leads to a contract between the two sides.
